Ah…. . fabric! The colours! The texture! The out of control confusion! Stepping into a fabric store or a mall for the first time can be an threatening experience. In fact, some times the most fervent buyers can find themselves at loss. The world of fabric is full of variety; the two main types of fabrics being natural and artificial. Natural fabrics are the best buy regardless of season, festival or occasion. They look pleasant and respire better than synthetics. Once you’re hooked on them, you never look back, until, perhaps, when you are in receipt of married and have to wear a fancy jora. Natural fabric Linen is by far the best choice for summer wear, since it breathes fantastically, and also gets softer after every wash. It comes in different texture, from sheer handkerchief type to thicker, denim-style, and is available in a variety of colours. Silk is also a wonderful normal fabric, though it is rather on the steep side. Of all the natural fabrics, cotton is the safest bet because it is affordable, and is readily available in a wide range of colours and designs. Lawn, which can be either cotton or a blend, is perhaps the most popular summer fabric. Voil, with its fresh, cool prints is another favorite. For winters, of course, the most popular fabric is wool which also exists in a variety of colours, weave and textures. Synthetic fabric Synthetic fabric such as nylon, rayon and polyester, etc.
